COURSE DETAILS
MASTERCLASS IN OPERA TUSCANY ITALY
The masterclass begins on the first evening with a relaxed communal dinner which gives our small group of students the opportunity to get to know one another.
Daily, after breakfast, there will be Italian language instruction from a certified Italian teacher. The class will concentrate on the conversational needs in the working environment of the opera house/concert hall.
After a break for lunch students will have the chance to vocalise in preparation for the afternoon group or solo masterclass in arias and selected ensemble work from repertoire chosen and mutually agreed upon beforehand.
Mid-week there will be a trip to Lucca with a guided tour of the city as well as a visit to the family home of Puccini.
There will be time to explore the town and its fabulous shops which will give you an opportunity to practise your language skills before returning to Villa Irlanda for dinner.
There will be lectures in opera appreciation as well as valuable question and answer sessions where Bruno Caproni can offer advice to students with his more than 30 years experience in the music business.
The week culminates on the Sunday afternoon with a public concert in which students will perform pieces chosen from the week’s masterclasses. The evening will be spent enjoying a farewell dinner at a restaurant in the nearby Tuscan hills.
